Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Cognitive Psychology or Cognitive Science

Description
The Department of Psychology at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Cognitive Psychology or Cognitive Science to begin in August 2026. The successful candidate will have research interests that focus from a psychological perspective on higher-order cognition in any area, including but not limited to attention, reasoning, learning, conceptual change, or language. The ideal candidate will maintain a cohesive and independent research program that meaningfully engages undergraduate students. The candidate will teach Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, or Research Methods. In addition, the candidate will teach intermediate courses that contribute to the Cognitive and Behavioral Processes requirement of the Psychology major, and advanced courses related to their area of expertise. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach Introduction to Psychology and additional courses that enhance our existing curriculum.

This position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a research leave prior to tenure review of either a full year at 80% salary or a semester at full salary, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty. To enable a smooth transition to Holy Cross, new full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors receive start-up funding to support their research and professional development and have a one-course reduction in their first year of teaching (i.e., 2-2). This position offers full benefits and a starting salary in the range of $101,850 to $103,850. Faculty at the College cultivate a richly diverse academic community, pursue innovative teaching, and create high-impact scholarship.
