The Program Associate will promote responsible resource use and management, and support and enhance existing partnerships with organizations working on similar issues.

The primary focus of the position is to foster sound forest management and tending on private lands with a clear need to convey a long-term forest stewardship message to ensure forest sustainability. The successful candidate will work within the Center to participate in applied research, provide support for the forest stewardship peer network - the Pennsylvania Forest Stewards, create educational resources, coordinate and host educational events, give presentations and webinars, and serve as a resource to landowners and private forestland stakeholders in multiple capacities, including serving on advisory committees and as a liaison to funders and partner organizations. To be effective, the Program Associate will seek to cultivate recognition and trust among stakeholders. The holder of this position must be flexible and responsive. The position may also supervise student employees working in support of the program.
