Instructor/Assistant Professor of Science Biology

Full-Time, 10 Month, Tenure Track

Serving students in Natural and Physical Sciences Program through both instruction and service.

Essential Functions:

Teach courses in General Biology, Microbiology and other related fields, teaching will include lecture and lab courses
Fulfill all full-time faculty responsibilities as stipulated in the faculty contract
Maintain a proactive role in academic and curricular review; design/develop and evaluate curriculum including updating
Of the Learning Activity Plans and Degree sheets
Incorporate and utilize technology in classroom
Provide academic advisement
Serve on at least one (1) college/division committee
Participate in outcomes assessment activities at the course/dept./institutional level
Hold office hours at all times classes are in session
Maintain academic and/or professional currency credentials
In addition to daytime courses, may be expected to have evening/weekend assignments
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Education and Certification:

Master's Degree in Biology, Microbiology or related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

Experience:
College level teaching experience. Ability to teach more than one discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:
Community College teaching experience

Doctorate in Biology or related field

Starting Rank and Salary: $60,600 – $70,436. Academic rank and salary will be determined in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
