Category:
Investigator
Lab/Area:
Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology
Description:
The Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology seeks to recruit faculty at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. Candidates must have a strong background in immunology, genomics, genetics, genome engineering, synthetic biology and/or clinical immunotherapy, and significant achievements and meaningful promise in their field. We invite applications from scientists with Ph.D., M.D. (or equivalent degree), or M.D/Ph.D. degrees (or equivalent degrees) who are establishing or have established a research program in genomic immunology research. Relevant areas of research include, but are not limited to:
- Functional genomic studies in cells of the immune system
- Genome engineering to enhance adoptive cellular therapies
- Genetic/genomic studies of human diseases of the immune system
- Protein design and engineering in the context of the immune system and immunotherapies
- Systems immunology and immunotherapy
- Disease expertise in autoimmunity, inflammation or other conditions that may benefit from future immunotherapies
About Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology
To harness the immense potential offered by immunotherapies, the Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology combines emerging biomedical technologies at the intersection of human immunology, genomics, CRISPR genome engineering, computational biology, and synthetic biology.
The institute's scientists deepen knowledge of how DNA sequences control cell functions in the human immune system. Their discoveries will enable the next generation of immunotherapies for cancer, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, inflammation and beyond.
This institute is the result of a close partnership between Gladstone Institutes and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). With wet and dry lab space to be housed (starting in 2027) in a new building on the Mission Bay campus, it creates a unified community across the two campuses and combines UCSF's world-class immunology and planned cell therapy efforts with Gladstone's expertise in the host-pathogen interface, iPS cells, computational biology, and CRISPR gene editing technologies.
