Faculty Position in Infectious Diseases: The Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is actively recruiting faculty physicians and/or physician-scientists.

The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong individual research program and contribute to the research portfolio of the Division. Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate students, residents and fellows.

Candidates must have an MD or PhD. Candidates with an MD must be Board Eligible/ Board Certified in Infectious Disease. Candidates with an MD must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or other pertinent clinical certifications or license/permits. Candidates with a PhD must be in the area of Infectious Diseases or related field.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
