The Wilmot Cancer Institute at the University of Rochester Medical Center (https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/cancer-institute/research.aspx) invites candidates to apply for full-time tenure-track faculty positions (all ranks considered) with expertise in the following research areas:

  • Innate immunity and inflammation in cancer
  • Myeloid-derived immune regulation and cancer microenvironment
  • Monitoring of immune genomic/metabolomic/aging in cancer

Successful candidates will join a highly collaborative and research intensive academic medical center with a growing, multidisciplinary research community. The Wilmot Cancer Institute is the hub of cancer research at the University of Rochester, attracting more than $30M in cancer- directed funding annually. The Wilmot Cancer Institute and UR Medicine are the major providers of comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care in central New York State and the Finger Lakes region, with >6000 new patients every year. Wilmot's core Research Programs include: ‘Genetics, Epigenetics and Metabolism', ‘Cancer Microenvironment' and ‘Cancer Prevention and Control' and the center boasts an extensive clinical trials program providing opportunities for innovative translational research.

In addition to the Wilmot Cancer Institute, the successful candidate will join a highly collaborative research intensive academic medical center with additional programs of excellence in microbiology and immunology, environmental health and toxicology, neurosciences, RNA biology, and pediatrics. Candidates should hold a PhD and/or MD (or equivalent) degree and have a demonstrated track-record of research accomplishments in an area relevant to cancer immunology with both historical and current federal funding of research projects as a Principal Investigator.

The successful candidate will hold a primary faculty appointment with the department and rank to be commensurate with area of expertise and experience.
