Position Description:
The electronics development engineer is part of the magnetometer engineering team in the Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences, and is responsible for the design of electrical and firmware elements that enable high-accuracy magnetic sensors for spaceflight and ground-based measurements.
The successful applicant possesses a strong technical background in electronics design, analysis, and testing with specific experience in FPGA firmware-based developments. Support for this position comes primarily from NASA projects and the deployment of magnetometers for spaceflight application, and the incumbent works within a small team environment to become a primary technical contributor to the development of instrumentation from the concept stage through space deployment.
