Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Reporting Analyst, HR Systems.

The Reporting Analyst, HR Systems supports Human Resources by analyzing business data and processes, and implementing technical solutions to meet business needs including the development of reports, databases, applications, processes and documentation. The position is responsible for data requests, troubleshooting problems and supporting data-driven processes within HR. The Analyst develops department expertise to support the process of designing and implementing business efficiencies and information resources, deploying best practice Information Systems technologies. The position works closely with faculty and staff in HR, Administration and Finance, Information Technology, System Computing Services and other HR stakeholders throughout the campus.

The Reporting Analyst, HR Systems must maintain an understanding of Human Resource systems and processes and has responsibility for HR duties to support the acquisition and maintenance of that knowledge set. Duties are creating and maintaining operational and decision-making applications and reports particularly in the Workday HCM system, report scheduling, external reporting, State and Federal compliance reporting, and reporting to meet NSHE requirements. Constituents are primarily the HR office, but include HR users across campus and all of NSHE, as well as the President's Office, Provost Office, Deans, Vice Presidents, Department Chairs, Directors and Managers. Additional duties include Workday administration with the roles of Security Partner, Organization Partner, and Business Process Monitor that includes dispensing all pending business processes (BP's) for terminated employees.

The selected candidate will have an ability to understand complex systems and processes, analyze reporting requirements, create and modify business reports, databases, processes and applications using a number of different database/reporting platforms and a demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new technology. Presently, we primarily use Workday, MS Access/Excel and Oracle SQL. The candidate needs to have strong documentation and communication skills, be able to follow written instructions, conceptualize projects, investigate solutions, work independently and as part of several different groups.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for the right person to join the organization in an intermediate technical position with a career path and promotional opportunities. The Analyst will gain considerable experience through formal and on the job training as well as mentoring.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years OR Master's Degree and one (1) year of related work experience.

Related Experience: Application support or related functional or IT experience including data query and analysis experience. Working in business application data analysis, data extraction, and custom reporting from a large complex computer application.

The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, moving allowance (if applicable), a rich retirement plan, health insurance options that include dental and vision, life insurance, long-term disability, thirty (30) days of sick leave provided upon start date and two (2) days of sick leave accrued per full month after the first year of service, two (2) days of annual leave accrued each full month, along with many other benefits.
