Job Summary:
The Office of Institutional Research conducts ethical analysis that supports a culture of reflection and action by providing rich, timely, and accurate data in formats that are accessible and useful to decision-makers. Responsibilities of the Research Analyst include data: collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting. The job requires technical familiarity with data coding structures and conventions, knowledge of methodologies for quantitative and qualitative analysis, and a familiarity with the use of statistical software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses software packages (e.g. SPSS, Microsoft Excel, EMSI, etc.) for statistical and analytical purposes to produce descriptive statistics, longitudinal/predictive analyses, and other derivable reports/models specific to analytical software
Collaborates with institutional research staff to provide timely, relevant and accurate institutional information to internal and external audiences
Assists in summarizing and producing reports, models, and summaries of data on relevant job market conditions, industry trends, and demographic/workforce information
Works with large complex data sets, including exporting/importing and merging from various sources, cleaning data files and maintaining historical records
Prepares reports, summarizing data and analyses that present results in a clear and concise manner for multiple audiences, including the creation of clear and effective charts and tables
Supports institutional research staff by proofreading reports, correspondence, and statistical tables for accuracy and completeness, as well as helping to reconcile discrepancies and investigate data anomalies
Maintains security of confidential student and employee information
Assists institutional research staff with departmental outreach by supporting them on collaborative projects, including the design and analysis of quantitative and qualitative research projects
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)

Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
Bachelors degree in math/statistics, computer science, social/behavioral/natural sciences, or a related field
Two (2) years of work experience in a related area

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
Masters degree in math/statistics, computer science, social/behavioral/natural sciences, or a related field
Experience in accessing data from multiple sources and merging them to perform analyses
Familiarity with labor market software such as EMSI, Burning Glass, or other similar packages
Familiarity with external reporting, including data collections for Petersons, National Student Clearinghouse and IPEDS
Knowledge of CCSSE and SENSE
Knowledge of CBM State Reporting

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Ability to interact and effectively communicate findings to a diverse constituency
Ability to be adaptable and have great attention to detail while working on multiple projects with competing deadlines
Have a systematic and logic-based approach to problem solving
Demonstrate the ability to interpret, find patterns, and derive meaning from the analysis of data
Detail-oriented, organized and resourceful with the ability to complete projects with rapidly changing priorities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Willingness to make a professional commitment through continuing education and participation in professional conferences and workshops
Experience with computerized systems
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
